After searching high and low for a kitchen island / work table that was large enough to fit six people, the right height, durable enough to actually use and not thousands of dollars, I determined it didn't exist. And wasn't willing to settle for a cheap table that wasn't even what I wanted; so in typical architect fashion I designed it myself !!
